Kanye West had the internet buzzing last night as Funk Master Flex dropped a new joint from the G.O.O.D. Music general titled "Theraflu". In the song he references his love for Kim Kardashian and somewhat disses her ex, Kris Humphries.
Though the song became immensely popular last night alone, Kanye managed to get on the wrong side of the PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals) Organization with one his lyrics in a line which referenced him dragging his mink coat on the floor.
"Tell PETA my mink is draggin' on the floor" is the line that got the organization's Senior VP Dan Matthews irate, which led him to respond to Kanye.
"What's draggin' on the floor is Kanye's reputation as a man with no empathy for animals or human beings. He's a great musician but doesn't seem to have the fashion sense to design anything more than caveman costumes. We keep hoping that one day he'll find his heart and join evolved style icons—including Russell Simmons, Pink, and Natalie Portman—who have dropped animal skins."
This marks the second time Matthews has had to comment on Kanye's fur attire, as he and and ex-girlfriend were draped in fur coats for Fashion Week a few years ago.
"Kanye can't help making himself look like an idiot, whether at an awards show or a fashion show. He and his girlfriend look like pathetic creatures from a shabby roadside zoo."
Kanye West has yet to respond and there's no telling if he will or not. But knowing 'Ye, the hip hop world should be on the lookout for a lyrical retaliation.
